Default E85 for Q5, less carbon?

A bit worried about carbon build up if I get a Q5. Does anyone know if running E85 will reduce carbon build up in direct injection engines? Looks like if I ever get the 2.0 chipped, it would get some nice performance gains on E85 too.

Also incase I have to travel and get find E85, can E85 be switched back and forth with 93?

Not sure why you are worried regarding carbon if you are talking 2.0T. That motor has had almost no mentions here or other forums whatsoever about carbon problems. Even the previous 2.0T (EA113) has had minimal issues with carbon. The V6's have had issues and warranty extensions. 3.2 worse than 3.0T so far but kinda early to tell for sure.
The flex fuel motors will run on E85 or E10 or any combination with no interaction from you except to drive it.

Be SURE to read your owner's manual on the use of E85 fuel. My previous 2.0TFSI Q5 was limited to no more than 15% ethanol fuel. Not sure about the newer TSFI four with he improved combustion chamber, but you could damage your engine and fuel system if it is not designed to be compatible with that high of a percentage of ethanol.
