Is this a water pump problem? Also is it safe to drive the car to the dealer when it is about 2 miles away?

I personally wouldn't drive it.

Definitely sounds like it. I would have the dealership come and pick it up. When those pumps go, they typically drain all of the coolant.

The same event happened to a buddy of mine
He was told by his dealer to add water to his coolant and drive it down.
Or wait for a flatbed for pick up
He added water to his coolant and drove it to his dealer ... was only a few minutes away like you.

If the same scenario would happen to me ... I would have them pick up the Q with their Flatbed

My wife was driving ours when it dumped. Just call audi roadside and have them tow it.
We were quite pleased with the turnaround/response/call back etc etc etc.
