Default Engine oil consumption for Q5 2.0T

Hi, I have a 2012 Audi Q5 2.0T that has 3,400km(2,112 miles) on it. But I only got a quart left according to the MMI.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

About right. Keep a quart or two of Castrol Full Syn 5W-40 in the back of your car. Once a while just fill half quart once the MMI shows it's low.

The MMI gauge is like the min and max of a dipstick. At the bottom you are less than a quart low.
You still have 4 qts left.

The last car I owned where I had to carry two quarts of oil in the trunk was a 56 Plymouth with 145k miles on it. Do all German cars have this problem or just Audi?

Give it a chance for the piston rings to seat in...

should get better - if not - read the sticky at the top about the oil comsumption testing...

but I too panicked the first time I looked at the MMI in the wife's Q and thought she was out of oil

finally to realize the max to min mmi display is misleading...
the range is NOT full to empty !!!

I too have a 2012 2.0T. The original factory fill dropped pretty fast over the first 5000 miles. I had to add a quart (you will get a warning in the DIS when you are down a quart/liter) at about 3800 miles if I remember correctly. The second fill, done at 5300 miles by dealer, has hardly moved at all and I am at 9400 miles now. So what JBT said above about the piston/ring seating and whatnot may be very true. Do not panic.
