That's exactly what I was worried about. Well at least eventually you got reimbursed. It's already hard enough for a manufacturer to own up to their own issues and fork out money. Good luck on trying to convince a 3rd party who has minimal knowledge on your Audi and who has already collected your money to give some of it back.

Others will confirm, but the advantage of Audi Pure Protection is the coordination between the insurance company and the Audi dealer would be seem-less. You are just responsible for the deductible assuming it is a covered part.

A low cost alternative to these extended warranties is the mechanical breakdown insurance from GEICO. It is offered to GEICO auto insurance customers when a new car is insured. For about $40 to $60 every six months, you have mechanical breakdown insurance for most major systems. I leave it to you to research but it is an interesting alternative. But it does require you to stay with GEICO for the life of the extended warranty else it terminates when you leave company.
