Finally made the plunge and ordered my 3.2 Q5. The dealer was able to change one of their allocations and have given me a commission number and a date for its shipment (3/26). How much do these dates vary considering that the car has not gone into production yet? Any tips/advice welcome...

Congrats on the purchase, you are lucky to be getting it so soon I ordered last week with a Delivery of July hopefully.

I ordered my Q5 premium plus 2.0T + B&O end of Sept 2010, they promised it for Dec 28th but I finally got it January 14 2011. I lived in Montreal, the shipping is quite long, it took roughly 25 days, since the moment they told me that my car is on his way.

During my shopping another Audi dealer told me, he wasn't able to deliver anything before mid February.

It's take a 1.5-2 days to build a car (at list for BMW).

July? I was told by my dealer that I could wait until mid-April, order a MY2012 and get it at the beginning of July.

Monday I was told I have VIN# with a late March delivery--purchase was early January. Hope this helps.

I got my paperwork last night in the mail and it says 07/2011. Mine isn't even being shipped I'm picking it up at the factory and driving it home. On one of the UK forums there are a few other guys that have late June and July deliveries.

That seems along the same line as me: mine was ordered late January with a target delivery date of late April.

Hello All,

First post. I just closed the deal on my new Q5 2.0, March 1st. I found the exact car I wanted at another dealer in town and am having it transferred to my dealer, hopefully today...it's maddening to drive by the other dealer and still see it sitting in the showroom.
