Default Flying Q5's

When I first installed my new bars on top of my Q5 (2010 bought used without the original bars), i noticed that the rear bar (top) was lower than the front one. So, to my point of view, putting (attaching) a roof box on the bars, the box will act as a plane wing !!! So if we could go fast enough with the box locked on the bars, we could fly........not very high ....of course!!! So, i decided to "shime" (1,25 inches) the rear bar (spacer between the bottom of the box and the top of the bar to have it level. Everything is working well and it look "nicer".....to MPV.
What about you (box's owners) and other are thinking ????

Would like to see photos of your spacers. I have thought of doing the same, but haven't pursued...

As simple as two pieces of 5/8'' thick plywood of 2-3'' wide x 6-7'' long wrapped in electric tape or other types of weather resistant tapes positionned right under the box brackets on each side (of the rear bar).
I don't have photos of the installation because I remove the box and bars when i don't use it.

I don't use a box, but I bought a set of Thule Aeroblade Edge bars. They can mounted more forward so you don't get the rocket launcher effect. You can see in the picture below that mine are mounted forward of the factory mount points.

As i can see, they are not located "exactly" at same "locations" that Audi bars must be locked in (as you stated). So your bars must be a little more leveled relative to each others.
That color is very nice for the SQ5....Bravo!!!
