Fog Light Glass Shattered
While washing the car today, noticed the glass cover for one of the fog light is shattered...
anybody had this happen to them before? don't know how it happened...is this cover by warranty?
If not, do I have to go to a dealer to replace it, can I do it myself? Or can one of those auto glass shop replace it? Maybe I should just "upgrade" my fog lights which may include the cover class.
Advice would be appreciated

You have to change whole unit, the black cover comes off when you put your hand to handle hole under the horizontal profile (on horizontal centerline of cover) and pull out the end that is closer to car grill.
The fog light housing is attached with 2 torx screws and it is also secured with clip in the fog housing so once you take the screws off, you have to rotate it to get it out.
Your lens probably got whakked by rock or other road debris.

Kleinbus, do you happen to know the part number for the fog light unit. I had the lens crack on mine as well and am wondering if I can just order it off line and replace it myself vice going to the dealer. Thanks.

8T0941700B - Right (pass side)
It costs about $95 from the dealer - you can get it online from audiusaparts.com for $70

depending on your skill set and time available, you can do it
but for that price you might consider some good aftermarket kits...
always wondered how good a shot those 'rock throwers' were to keep hitting my last low sports car's bullet fog lights at 60 mph speeds
on edit, my main problem is I typically follow too close, so everything is chipped

I had both my fog lights shattered on my pickup truck. I neatly covered the whole lens with black electrical tape in order to pass inspection. My pickup is black so it just looks like there are no fog lights unless you bend down and look closely. 9 months later, the tape is still holding up. Since I never use them, I don't want to spend $540 on a new pair of foglight housings if the tape cover works fine. I may have to replace it once a year, but no big deal. By the way, that is the discounted internet price. I have no idea why these Honda parts are 4x more expensive than Audi.
Now, you may not want to do this to your luxury car, but just a tip in case you don't want to shell out money for something you may never use.
