Front & Rear Bumper protection

Awaiting delivery of a Meteor Grey Premium + in NYC, looks like an early June timeframe. Any suggestions for bumper protection? I hate to ruin the great looks but I know there are some really bad drivers in the city who parallel park by bouncing back and forth between the cars. Chrome bull bars? Tow hitch on the rear?

I also am anxious to hear feedback as I live near, and drive to NYC regularly. That was a concern the first time I took a look at that huge plastic front grill on the Q5.

Yep, see them all over the city. Look a bit dorky, or rather would make me feel dorky, but they do serve a purpose. But the front grill really has me concerned.
