Default gas nozzle fit

Does fitting the gas nozzle into the fuel tank seem a little tight for anyone? Had a B8 A4 and the gas nozzle would go right into the the fuel tank when pumping gas. Since I received my 2013 Q5, have to literally push the nozzle into the fuel tank each time when filling up.

Now that you mention it, I do remember the first time I filled up. I didn't think the nozzle was all the way into the gas tank. The nozzle sticks out a lot more than it does on any other car I've owned.

The factory has installed a tight fitting, plastic-looking port to insert the gas filler nozzle when flling the tank. I have only filled the tank twice since I took delivery of my Q5, but the first time, I thought maybe something was in there to prevent the filler nozzle from entering, or I had the wrong nozzle. This must be to prevent gasoline vapors from exiting the tank around a loose fit at the nozzle? With additonal use I expect it to loosen up a little.

It is that plastic part that I was referring to. Haven't had problems filling up as was the case in the other post but just wanted to make sure that plastic part is meant to be there and not something the dealer forgot to remove on delivery. Asked my sales rep already but he hasn't responded to my emails since I finished the Audi Survey.
