Get 2013 Q5 or wait for 2014 model?
I currently have a Honda Accord and am excitedly upgrading to the Audi Q5. I'm not in a huge rush, apart from just WANTING to upgrade!
I'm trying to find details on the 2014 model, but details are sparse. (t SOUNDS like:
- Price bump
- More options are standard
- More trims/model variants?
Is there any known release date for the 2014 model? Any other insight on whether it is worth it to wait for the 2014 model or dive right in?
I bought my Accord in February, which was far off next year's model. Now that we're in July, it is a little closer...!

Any known interior changes?
I'm not seeing the "convenience package" on audi.ca - is it just the next trim level? The difference between the base trim is $3,000 there.. :S

2014 Canadian order guide: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...=1#post8855587
Trim names:
2.0T Base -> Komfort
2.0T Premium -> Progressiv
2.0T Premium Plus -> Technik
The new trims are based on the features of the 2.0T, so the base 3.0T is now Progressiv and 3.0T Premium is Technik.
- 2.0T Komfort (+$1000) now includes power tailgate and rain and light sensor
- 2.0T Progressiv, Technik (+$550) no change (Progressiv doesn't list headlight washers, not sure if oversight or standard on all or what)
- 3.0T trims seem to be +$50 compared to the old ones, not sure if something's been lost
- New 3.0 TDI engine, +$2500 compared to 3.0T

We don't have quite as much info on the Canadian differences, but I rounded up some order guide links.

Are there ANY details about when you can actually GET your 2014 Q5 in Canada?

Most of the 2014s that were on the lots were original dealer stock. Custom orders take 3 months, and orders started in April. So depending on when they ordered the car, this would be why some are still waiting. Others are waiting on specific models such as TDI or SQ5, which have experienced a slight delay.

I've never ordered a car this way before, though I am surprised it takes that long...

Give or take. Ours came in about 83 days. The actual build only takes a few days. Most of that time is spent in transit from the factory. Orders go into a queue once you place the order with your dealer, and Audi takes about a month to get your car on the line.
