Default Getting Hitch installed?

Has anybody ever have a different hitch receiver installed other than the Audis factory one? I'm wondering on how it looks and works, was it an easy install? Any issue with the back bumper, etc? I'm just looking to save money over Audi's $1,500 price tag, which I'm willing to pay if I have too, but I think that is a bit much and I might be just as happy with an aftermarket one for a fraction of cost installed. I'm not worried about having top notch or really any electrical or braking wires as I'm only putting a small basket/tote holder on the back to haul my paramotor on. I originally thought if you went aftermarket Audi voids your warranty, but when I called my dealer today they said it wouldn't so it got me thinking about an aftermarket one.

Note that if you have the Audi "hitch" put in, the entire rear bumper cross-frame is replaced. The original one has ONE threaded hard point, on the passenger side, for the towing eye. The new one with the hitch? Has NO hard points, you can only tow from the hitch. And of course, there's the Audi trailer light control computer module, which has some queer ideas about controlling power.

So aftermarket, from any reputable vendor that offers a good product and understands an Audi is not wired as politely as a Chevy...not a bad idea.

Which year/model?

If you have a removable panel, I really recommend you the Execuhitch...
