Hi, I've been working with a dealer here in NY (Putnam County) on a new 2010 Q5, and wanted to see if you all think it's a good deal, or if there's room to negotiate as I haven't been able to get any movement from the dealer.

It's a 2010 Q5, meteor gray, premium plus package with panoramic sunroof, navigation, and B&O system, with their 4.9%. They came with a price of $44,950 and won't move off of it.

I feel like I should get at least another $1k on my trade-in, but they won't move on that either. The salesman mentioned that the dealership makes money if I use their financing, but I said I could get 4.65% through my bank but would be willing to use their financing if it made sense to both of us.

I also mentioned that I'd be interested in separately purchasing Audi Care, running boards, and the DVD headrests from their separately, but that additional business doesn't seem to be incenting them.

What do you guys think?

Get another dealer and see what they can do for you. Apples to apples as they say.
This will provide leverage against dealer 1. If dealer 1 won't do it, then go with dealer 2.
Include the Audi care and dealer installed stuff. Dealers make money on all of this.
As for financing do what is best for you, meaning: what's the lower cost? Don't worry about the service at dealer 1 or dealer 2. it should be great at either place or Audi has a problem. Ultimately this is fair to dealer 1 and you and in this case you are most important.

First of all, panoramic roof is standard on premium plus so that should not be taken into consideration. Second of all, doesn't sound like a great deal at all. Only $800 off sticker? Go somewhere else and get a better deal. That's crap.

About Audi care -skip for now - your first oil change will not came in the next 5-10K miles. Check Audi web side for Audi drive event - its' free. Attend one - and you get Audi care for free. They start this event in May and in 2-3 months ride this event across country. Even if event as far as 2 -3 hr drive from were you live - steal worse in my opinion.
And cross check another dealer for price - look to high. If you member of Costco - check with them also.

4.9% is also very high for 60 month. Bank of America has 4.10 for 60 month if you apply on your own which means the dealer should easily be able to get you ~ 3.9 if not lower. They have a way to get wholesale rates... I would be looking at about 3000$ + off the sticker price and consider that a pretty good deal.

It's all about how much they going for and how fast they're moving in you immediate area. If you're willing to travel or pay to ship, you can probably do a little better...but it's going to require some time and effort on your part. Are you willing to compromise on Interior & Exterior color? Compromise on options and packages? That would open up a lot more choices. Q5s are moving off the lot very quickly in some areas and garner higher prices. Just because someone somewhere says they got $XXXX of doesn't mean you will. In my region, Q5s are selling within 3-5 days of hitting the lot. Why would a dealer give someone $3K off if they know they can get close to sticker if they hang on to it for a few more days. Of 19 dealers within 250 miles of my home only 7 dealers have Q5s on the lot for a total of 13 vehicles. They are still trickling in but they're selling as fast as they come in. I'm not suggesting that you not try to get a better deal...only that you should be careful not to let your idea of the perfectly equipped Q5 slip away while you're trying to save what might equate to a few hundred $$$. I hope you find exactly what you want with a huge discount. GL with your search.
