Just know that if you go with the 5.9 Hemi, you will be getting somewhere around 12 - 15 mpg, with the performance of a 1983 Buick. The interior is beautiful and the GC is great offroad or in the snow, but don't expect any performance. I speak from experience.
QUOTE=Mitch105;24237497]So here is the deal. Love my Q5. Love it love it. But, that said the new jeep seems really impressive. It has the looks, quality is now there, good size. Yes, it is not an Audi. My wife and I both drive the q5 but she would get it full time. I am thinking the jeep grand Cherokee limited with v6 or hemi leaning toward the guzzle hemi but oh what a nice engine or BMW x5. Or I could try to wait it out for an eventual new q7 or rumored q6 which is like the x6. Argghhhh. Thoughts?[/QUOTE]

In Car & Drivers test, it's only 0.5s faster than the Q5 with the 2.0T. Despite 150 less HP and 130 ft-lbs less. I think the extra 1300LBS!!!! might have had a small impact. It's a heavy SOB. Same 8 speed tranny as the Q5.
NO way you can make that porker handle well. It's chassis was considered good, but it's wasn't happy when pushed, at all.
They averaged 16mpg...but hey, only 1mpg less than with the V6.![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Q5 2.0T got 19mpg in a similar test.
also 13ft different in stopping from 70, nearly a full car length. 0.76 vs. 0.85g on the skidpad. 0.76? I think a 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood is better than that.

The 4000lb Ford Transit Connect even handled and braked better.... that's sad.

My neighbor and I got our cars within 6 months of each other, he has a 5.7 Hemi, 4x4 Summit. Interior is nice, good quality leather, decent enough looking vehicle, but he is always saying he wishes he'd bought the Q5. GC gas mileage is miserable, as others have said, but for all that gas, it just doesn't run that hard. Pretty mundane in fact compared to a stock 3.0T.
We've driven each other's cars quite a bit, and there's no doubt which we'd each select given the choice again - the Q. EXCEPT, when he mounts his oversized winter tires (any week now I suspect), the thing is an absolute blast off-road or in the snow. Air suspension on off-road max gives something like 12" of clearance, and the 4WD system is pretty damn good.
I don't know that I could live with the GC for daily use, it's comfy and looks decent, but it just isn't "fun" to drive. If you have an OK amount of off-roading to do though, it's top notch.
Good Luck!

I just sold my SRT8 that has served me well for the past 7 years.
It has been a great, fun ride but was getting on in years. Looked at the new Jeep and definitely is now a more refined vehicle and is quite a few notches better than my model. However, they feel a lot more unconnected if you enjoy spritzed driving and being involved. The new SRT is much larger now and doesn't have the sport feel of the SQ5. It is a beast of a truck though and my old SRT hardly depreciated. Jeeps are great, but still a ways to go to reach the level of Euro built vehicles.
