I have a 2012 Q5 and the Headlight Range Control Light just came one. It was periodic at first but now comes on every time I start the car. I checked the sensors on the front and rear and both seem to be physically ok. Nothing appears broken or loose. Is there a way to determine which one of the sensors is faulty? Is this considered a "Check Engine Light" that Autozone could scan and let me know?

AutoZone couldn't read the code so I get a "real" OBD II reader and it showed a problem with the right headlight control motor. I checked the light and the plug was not fully seated into the headlight assembly. Apparently the technician that changed my timing chain cover/gasket to fix an oil leak didn't fully push in the plug on re-assembly. Quick free fix and I'm good to go.
