I got a new 2011 Q5 2.0T two weeks ago. Now I have about 600 miles on it. Since it is new in break-in period, I am quite easy on it.
This morning I checked the oil level, the computer shows the oil level is one bar below max, not sure how much oil for one bar though. Is it normal for a new car with only 600 miles? or is it burning oil badly?
I called my dealership, they said it is normal and I can add oil by myself if necessary(they are 1 hours driving away). What kind of oil should I buy? and is there any instructions(video etc.) for adding oil?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know the exact reason why but my 2.0T in the A3 used to burn quite a bit of oil between scheduled maintenance. From what I remember reading on the forums, seems common for the 2.0T FSI engines. All 3 of my 1.8T's used to burn oil too but to a lesser extent. No issues so far with the 3.2 though (other than a missing turbo) :-)

Hi guys Just want to share what i been thought till I broght 3.2 q5 last week.(Canada)
I am a cheap guy and I really love small engines. So i perordered q5 2.0t with LED head lights ($900 extra) a month ago without even consider the 3.2
until I looked at 3.2 basic last week. the price different between 3.2 basic and 2.0t basic here at canada is 4000 dollars. but the 3.2 have the LED day time running light as a standard where 2.0t need to pay 900 dollar for it. well, LED is a must have if you buying an Audi.
so, after all, the price difference is only 3000 dollars. but 3.2 have 2 more extra features: powered tailgate and ipod music interface. (which is $1000 dollar extra for the 2.0t)
so really after all, the price difference is 2000 dollars.
so I say if you want powered tailgate and Ipod hub, just go with the 3.2.other wise, 2.0t is just as great.
but, I think powered tailgate is a must, its just a blast when you holding heavy bags and the tailgate opens for you.
about the gas consumption: 3.2 use about 1L more gas every 100 km.My old car has 130000 KM on it, say its 1.5 dollar per Liter, thats 2000 dollar more in total for 8 years period. thats like 20 dollar a month.......not a big deal at all.
as a cheap guy like me, the 3.2 looks like a better deal~ and it looks really cool since 3.2 is a bigger number compared to 2.0 ^^
