Default Help!!! Low oil warning!

All,

I'm on a small road trip with about 200 miles to go between now and the next week or so... I've got 15,100 miles and was going to take it in around 15,500 for my 15,000 mile service as the car states 500 miles or 90 days...

The low oil warning came on and said you can still drive but to add oil, the light remains on with min oil and the symbol.

Should I add oil? If so does should which kind tegar or synthetic? I'm thinking of just finding an auto supply store and buying one container? I'm assuming just filler up with one should hold me over the next 400 miles or so?

Please advise!

I believe the 3.0 TDI uses 5W30, but you may want to confirm with Audi. Also, you may want to contact your closest Audi dealer and have them do a quick oil change before you drive another 200 miles if your oil level is dropping quickly. Most dealers will do a oil change while you wait and get you in immediately, if needed. It normally only takes about 2 hours or so.

Have a great rest of your road trip.

I spoke to the Audi dealership and they said that it sounds about normal for my oil level since I'm supposed to bring it in for the 15,000 soon. They said to check the MMS section under the car / oil setting and it should provide information on how far down I am etc...

They mention that to go to an Audi or VW dealership to make sure I get the right oil since it is diesel (TDI) etc...

Thanks!

If diesel, it needs to have the 507.00 spec on the bottle.

Pep Boy is another source for this oil.

Oppsss uberwgn beat me

For the diesel engine you must use only oil that meets the standard VW 504 00/507 00

Are you sure the oil is actually low?

WOW
in-car diagnostics say to ADD OIL, and you're asking IF you should add oil?
You're asking an internet forum for advice instead of calling, oh I dunno, say, and Audi dealer?
