My sun shade separated this week (sagging due to the sides pulling away from the edge lining) and I took it into the dealer for an estimate. We have the platinum extended warranty and were told today that it would be a covered repair. Not saying this will be the case for every sun shade failure, but it certainly was worth the ask and saved me from even having to buy parts and DIY.
