as a standalone option (7Y1) which it was previously listed in earlier versions of the 2014 Order Guide. It (availability of standalone option) was also (originally) highlighted in the PIB as one of the new Lineup Changes for 2014. Now the only remaining way to get it is as part of the Prestige Package.

Peruse it at your leisure to see if anything else changed. Please reply if you find anything else. I note some other models had updates as well, so someone may care about that as well.

Interestingly the A4 and allroad still retain the Side Assist option (at least in this rev). If they keep it all the way to production that'll be really strange that the Q5 was the only one that lost it.

It is there but only with the Prestige package.

It's standard (not an option) with Prestige; it had previously been available as an option on Premium Plus, but that got removed (only for the Q5).

Correct. The "previously" was in regard to the 2014 order guides: the initial publishing of the order guide included Side Assist as a standalone option for P+, which got removed in this later revision (A4 and allroad still have it listed).

They should have this standard on all of their vehicles. I've noticed the Q5 has a pretty big blind spot (compared to nothing with the 07 Mazda 3 I had before). I love the feature on mine ('11 2.0T P+). Its too bad they don't allow people to get it on any trim they want.

Hi. I ordered a 2013 S5 early April . Mid April they tell me I have to get a 2014 which would be here aug/sept. then they say they pulled some strings and I will get the 2013 by June 1.
Monday my Audi tracker says it is on its way to me.
Today the dealer calls and says that it was a mistake by Audi and I am getting a 2014 to be built week 24 to get here sometime july. they will give me a loaner S5 until it is here no charge. Any idea what is going on?

The 2013 production year is over. The factories are gearing up to begin producing the 14's.
You have to wait a little longer, but you will have a car with greater value.
