Audi should have come up with something hidden like this for the NA hitch...

Very unlikely but then it also doesn't officially have Australian approval either.

In going for this hitch, I figured that the company (Bosal) that designs and builds both the factory fitted (foldout) hitch as well as the dealer fit hitch should know their stuff, not to mention that the hitch meets all the required European standards. To top it off, Australia is slowly adopting the EU standards so should be no probe here.

since it is a bit more recessed, depending on your bike rack (we got the 1up platform rack), you might need to move your pedals slightly so you don't touch the bumper.
Thunder with the handle nut does you bend the handle so it stays in the tube or is the nut suppose to break free from the handle?

i just left them in as-is since they are not noticeable otherwise.
