Default Hissing Sound- Brakes? or ?

Here's a bit of an odd thing I can't figure out. I've recently noticed a slight hissing sound inside the vehicle.

At first I thought it was coming from the speakers--but don't think it is.

When I press down on the brake pedal the sound goes away. When I release the brake pedal it returns.

The hissing sound isn't that loud, but just enough for me to notice it.

Could this be some sort of vacuum air leak or something?

Any suggestions?

Is that when stationary in Park?
Is the brake pedal hard and high when you get in to start?
Does it fall away and get softer once started?

brake operation seems normal--but starting to think it is a vacuum leak. I looked online for other vehicles and noted other similar complaints pointing to a problem with the brake booster or hose to it.

the sound is constant at all speeds or in park. The sound only goes away when I press on the brake pedal.

So took vehicle into dealer. There is a distinct hissing air sound coming from the brake booster near the brake pedal. It isn't loud, but I can hear it when driving. When I press the brake pedal, the hissing goes away. When I release pedal it comes back.

Dealer said they compared sound to other Q5's and said sound is normal -- it doesn't strike me as normal.

Wondering if someone could do a check on theirs and let me know if i'm just being parnoid or if something is wrong?

I suspect sound will get worse if brake booster problem deteriorates--but rather not lose my brakes...

Aren't the break boosters on these electrical not vacuum assist?
