Default How to connect trailer brakes?

I have a 2012 Audi Q5 with a factory installed hitch. The hookup is 5 pin with one pin designated as being for the trailer brake. There is a sticker on the hitch that says "Electric brake for trailer not connected!" I called the dealer to ask if they could connect the electric brake or install what is needed and they couldn't answer my question.

What needs to be done to connect the electric brake for the trailer?

Thanks

I'm in California. The cover over the electrical connection on the hitch lists pins for Electric Brakes, RH Stop/Turn, Backup, LH Stop/Turn, and Running Lamps.

Usually, it's a 7 pin connector that also include Gnd and 12V. In all case, you will need to connect a brake controller to the 4 pin connector locaded under the dash.

There are some information here. Search for 'Brake controller'.
