Default How to delete sunroof

Sorry guys, I'm sure it was discussed before, can't find it...
I'm about to order and I have a couple of questions you guys might help with.
I drove the 2.0T model and I think it's quite good, not worse than the V6 one.
If I go for 2.0T Premium Plus and I delete the sunroof option, I don't get any credit back
- yeah, I don't think this sunroof is a smart option in SoCal.
So does it make sense to order a Premium and add all the options? But I can't get many
by doing it this way, like xenon lights for example. How do you guys deal with that?
There is also no Prestige 2.0T, right? So there's no way to have the start button for example
in a 2.0T model?
I really wish Audi stop the Premium-Prestige thing, just go for the regular options.

I had the same dilemma but opted for the 2.0T Premium Plus because I wanted xenon's, etc.,, and in the end went with the sunroof. I plan to tint it with Lumar CTX for $110.00 upon delivery--which will darken it a bit and reflect a lot of the heat. Some owners in hot climates say the sunroof is fine. Others complain. I'm expecting the CTX to be a good solution based on what the tinting shop I've dealt with for years tells me.

I live in So Cal (Los Angeles) and my car has never been any different that any other car I've had in terms of heat, sun, etc. If you're basing your decision soley on that issue, don't do it. Just get the sunroof. The difference will be negligible.

I have no Pano on my Q5.

Check out this thread:

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2792413

For me and my premium Q5:
Ipod interface - I ordered it and got it (avail on premium)
Xenon lights - I have these on my A4 and would have liked them
Auto dimming/folding mirrors - don't care, won't miss
Auto dimming interior mirror - won't miss but I do like the compass, have it in my A4
Homelink - I ordered it and got it (avail on premium)
Heated seats - I ordered them and got them (avail on premium)
Memory function - I would have liked this, have it on my A4
Pano sunroof - I like the $1450 I saved and won't miss it.
Power tailgate - I would have liked it, I will miss this most.
Bluetooth - I ordered it and have it (avail on premium)
Stainless steel trunk edge and sills - I haven't noticed it.
$4,200 for premium plus - after options I did get I kept $2,750 which was nice.

I don't think tinting is an option if I want to lease the car...

I think it's not even the heat, but the unwanted amount of light
coming from the top.

Hmm, why is tinting not an option if you were leasing the car? My leased Q5 has sunroof and front windows tinted (but it was tinted by the dealer). The amount of light coming from the top is not that bad once you tinted the roof. And frankly, I've never close the shade unless parking the car under a VERY sunny day! Hope that helps.

I've always tinted the windows on my leased cars. Never had an issue, not even when turning in. You said you were worried about having the pano in So Cal, so I assumed it was due to heat and not light, since you'll have the same amount of light anywhere, not just so cal. I think you need to go see one with the pano because light is not an issue either. Surprisingly it blocks out a lot of the light.

When I ordered my 2010 MY Q5 Premium Plus, it was without the pano roof. It was no problem to delete it from the order (there is a delete code when ordering) and did not expect a credit for doing so. Just did not want the pano roof. Good luck with your Q5, with or without the pano roof you will like it as others have said.
