How do you like your Dunlop Tires?

Drove in severe rain this afternoon-Q5 did not feel "solid" at all on 0.5"-1" of water, the tires are barely worn after 5200 miles - they are 235/60/18 Dunlops OEM tires..
I never felt so unstable in the rain in our other SUVs (XC90, LR), on Michelins/Continetal tires.
Any one can comment?
Funny, they did not feel bad on the last winter snow...

Dunlop Grantrek All-season....
Severe? Did you slow down at all?
Anyways, ok on summer, junk on snow.
I have driven mine to so deep puddle on bottom of dip that runaway water splashed all the way up to windshield and blinded me for 5 seconds during severe pour and I was going about 30 mph....
Mine shot after 35000 miles and I need to look real summers.

Those Dunlops are about as bad as they come as far as oem Q5 tires, terrible in the snow and rain, rough riding, nosiy on the highway. Even the Good Year Eagle LS is better. I tried to get the Michelin Latitude when we bought our Q5, but the dealer could find one and were unwilling to swap out the tires.

Hmmmn, my replacement for a damaged tire was over $250.00 - no matter where I had checked. If true, than I am a touch amazed that Audi would compromise handling/noise for a few dollars, but I guess I have not compared another Q5 to mine to be able to compare one brand of tire to the next. Has anyone here done that comparison?

My 2010 came with Michelins and they seem good. I have had good and bad OEM tires when I bought new cars. Its one of those things you don't think about unless you get the bad ones.

Its not really what price you pay for the Dunlops, its how much Audi pays when they buy in bulk.

Not impressed with mine. We had very little snow here last winter and I drive cautiously in rain and had only one issue where I was surprised by a loss of traction. What's especially noteworthy is that about a day or so after I took delivery I noticed that that the right front wheel had a 5.5" long wheel weight on it. I figure about 1/2oz per inch. That's a lot of weight(close to 3oz) but not unheard of on a large wheel/tire assembly. Then I looked at the right rear and found a 10" strip of weight on that wheel. That's WAY too much, IMO. After bringing "it" to the attention of the dealer and telling them about a slight steering wheel wobble they tried to rebalance both right side tires. It did no good and the wobble remains. I attribute it to the crappy Dunlop tires and will live with it until time to replace them. Hopefully they'll wear out soon. Sorry tires, IMO.
