My build date is 11/09. And it looks plastic, so mine will be going to the dealer when I can. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it will be soon because of work. hmmmm. hope it doesn't fail in the mean time.

Could be different suppliers working to different revs of a drawing working through their inventory. I have seen this happen first hand. Sounds like Audi didn't care which part they had as long as there was one to slap on the car as it rolled down the line.

I just call the dealer and my Q5 is on the RUV list, its going in this week for the new water pump.
It sounds like Audi started using these plastic water pump some time in early 2009 and discontinue it at around March 2010.
