Finally got back to town and checked mine and sure enough, it's plastic (build date 9/09). Took the Q in to the dealer yesterday to get my winter tires on and practically begged them to change out the pump. The service rep told me that until it starts "giving me problems" or comes up on the recall list there's nothing they can do. He also claimed that the only pumps they've had to replace so far were on on A6s. I find that hard to believe.

Nah, I think the gasket may have cracked; they are pretty good. I would say that I have been satisfied with their service so far.

Call and/or e-mail AOA- I had good experience with them.
Also, my try to go to another dealer and see what they say.
