What exactly is VAG COM? Is it the factory scan tool or is it an after market version.
After market version:

Google: VAG-COM OR VCDS

Try this if you have not...it weirdly works in my BRZ and I don't know about the Q5 since mine is currently being built.

Leave the car in Drive when you shut the engine off. Then shift to park. In my BRZ, it's the only way I can keep the radio on when shutting the engine off.

Default Hey it works!

Thanks so much! I just bought a CPO 2012 Audi Quattro A5 cabriolet and love it, but as I'm sitting here waiting to pick up my son I was trying to figure out how to play the radio without keeping the Engine or any of the other electrical components on I did a Google search and found this forum. I don't like the fact that the music goes off after 15 minutes, but at least now I have a way to listen to the music without draining the battery too bad.

Were you able to find a solution that worked? I am having the same issue with my 2015 A4

Looking for a solution too for my 2011 Q5. The radio turns off as soon as I turn the engine off. I wish Carista had an option to change that behavior.

Still no solution on keeping the radio on when the engine is turned off without the press of the on button? Any update of the Carista app either for a while now.

For those who keep asking for a solution, it was provided in posts #16, #19 and #21. You need to buy a Ross-Tech VCDS cable (or mobile version) and use their Vag-Com software to activate the hidden menu. Or have access to someone who has one. Dealers do not use VCDS, they have their own dedicated system, and it's more rare than not if they are willing to change factory software settings.

Do these solutions only work on MMI systems? Or AMI as well?

I have an AMI and I don't believe the hidden menu is available. I am sad my Passat has this option to turn off the engine off and keep the radio and not my Audi.
