Default How wide can you go?

Hi, I have a questions regarding tire widths. The OEM 19" wheels (size 8), come with tire size 235/55. Can you go a Little wider ..245 or even 255?? Let me know if anyone has done anything like this.

Thanks guys!

I've read about people installing 255/50 tires on stock 19" rims without issues. Tire selection is better in that size, too.

The attached comparison indicates that the 255/50's should be fine,. That is likely what I will do when I replace tires.

Update file with correct size wheel.....

I put on a set of 255/50s a few months ago, no problems at all.

FYI, stock rims are 19x8, not 19x9 as noted in that attachment, but that should not really matter in this particular case.

Do you happen to have any pics? Just curious what it looks like on the rim. I'm inclined to do the same when the OEM tires wear out.

Thanks for catching that. I fixed the file and updated in the earlier post.

Here's a few, please excuse the dirt and crappy cell pics.

Can you share a photo from the side of the car. I want to see what the photo looks like with the height.
