Default IPad connection

As anyone connected an Ipad to the Q5? I tried yesterday and it didn't work. Since it is basically a big Ipod touch, I guessed that it would work the same. Maybe the Q5 needs an updated firmware?

Many of the original iPhone/iPod car chargers do not work with or charge the iPad. The plug is the same and it fits in place, but if you connect an iPad you will get a message that says “not charging.” Newer adaptors work on all three devices. It appears that the iAdaptor that comes with the Q5 is of the old variety and will need to be updated if it has not already been.

Funny because I get the not charging message if I connect the iPad to my laptop. I've read that it is more to do with the amount of current a USB port can provide.

Anyway, this is not an iPad forum, so as I don't have an iPod and that all my music is in my iPad, I will need to fallback to the SD card for my Q5. Which is not that bad anyway.

It's an ipad thing... Apple now programs the port on each device, so ipad, ipod touch, ipod and iphone have their own set of permissions. You will find that ipad does not like to dock/connect to a lot of things. The MMI bluetooth attachment is going to be your best bet.

The rumor is that iOS version 4.2 (hopefully released later this month) will allow the iPad to connect.
