Apparently, I'm in the vast minority, but I absolutely love my panorama roof. Love the glass and the open feeling it creates on the passenger cabin. Have not had a single creaking issue in the 2 1/2 years I've owned it, and have had very few extra heat issues, even while living in Southern California.

If I park the Q5 outside on a really hot day, I simply close the mesh screen and open the roof a bit while I'm gone to let a little heat escape. That works quite well.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a Q5 without the panorama roof, but we all have our own opinion.

But I can understand the debate as we went back and forth more on this feature than any other - especially as here in Alberta there are incidents of roofs getting cracked by stones thrown up by other vehicles. Has a high approval rating especially with second row passengers. At the end of the day I'm happy we went with it as I really like the spacious and airy feel it gives to the cabin.
