Lack of remote start option
Anyone know of an actual reason why Audi does not offer that (fairly common) option? Heh, only thing i can think of is that people storing their vehicles outside are not their target audience... but seriously, why?

I haven't attempted to validate it, but my salesman told me remote starters are illegal in Europe.

Germans frown upon letting cars warm up in front of houses. I always get dirty looks and people trying to tell my car is warming up on cold days. They expect you to start up cars and just drive away after doing so.

it's not only about warming up - here in vermont, on so many winter days, when i'm getting ready to go out and drive, i see an inch thick frozen snow sheet on my windshield (expecially when i come back home while it's snowing - snow falls on the glass, melts and freezes. I just may, one day give up and do it "canadian way" - get one of these ridiculous carport canopies :>

Even here in the States a lot of cities and municipalities have ordinances against idling vehicles. Idling time limits usually apply even to attended vehicles. In PA, it is technically against the law to let an unattended vehicle idle at all. Very few people know about it, and it's never enforced, but it is still the law.
