Default Loading the Jukebox

Are SD cards the only way to load the jukebox in the Q5? The drive apparently does not rip CDs to an internal hard drive as in some car models (Infiniti). And it cannot copy files from a device connected to the iPod interface. I’m not sure why Audi left out this rip feature. Having to US SD cards seems like a very unnecessary middle step... and one I can't be bothered with.

You can copy MP3's from a CD (not rip). But, I've found the SD card to be much faster.

if you have a Vag-Com cable you will be able to turn on the hidden menu within the MMI, then from there you can enable cd ripping

hope this link helps

Capacity is 32 GB. Audi recommends at least class 4. Pay attention to the file types allowable. They are all listed in the MMI manual.

hey john. will this SD memory card is like the one that is used in cameras? bcz i bought a new one which is 4GB but it gave me unreadable memory card or error, i don't remember, that's why i thought it may require certain memory card capacity. by the way what is the use of the 32GB,you mentioned, in the MMI? thanks

SD card for camera will work. I have a 16GB class 10 SD and it works in Q5.

Any sd card should work 32 gb is maximum size. Class 4 is just a minimum recommendation to help speed up transfers. Your card should work. Does the card have usable MP3 files on it?

what I was thinking - the file types you loaded may not be on the 'acceptable' list in the mmi manual, as mine either play flawlessly or some won't play at all - different file types !
