Wow, that didn't happen with my 99 1.8T A4 which I sold with 120K and it was still running strong. My 06 A4 has 60K and no repairs yet. I hope things haven't slipped with the Q5 as you predict.

I agree with some of the other here, no pano roof with a dark roof liner makes the inside of the car look like a closed in cave. The pano roof is great for the rear seat passengers as well as the front, it gives the interior an open feeling to it and it’s great for those cold New England days where you can feel the warmth of the sun and it heats the car up quickly as well, but to each his own I guess. Congrats and enjoy your new Q5.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I too have a Q5 on the way and I hope that it lasts. But with Audi's track record, I have my doubts about reliability.
The fact is Western made cars are never as reliable as Japanese made cars. But Japanese cars are snoozers to drive. There are trade-offs to everything in life.

You must have been one of the unlucky few. Generally Japanese cars are the kind of cars that take lots of abuse and keep on running.
I neglected my Honda and drove it close to 40,000 miles without changing the oil once and it kept on running. If I did this with a Euro car, I it would have sputtered after the first 15,000.

My bother and I both purchased SUVs in 2002. I got the ML320. He got the Acura MDX. He had to replace his transmission twice, A/C compressor, front suspension components, and his shifter on the MDX. I had to do a water pump at 110K on my ML. My experinences are much different then yours when it comes to quaility of these cars. You are probably reading consumer reports, right?

So, I'm looking forward to 8-10 years of reliable, unexpected-repair-free service from the Q5
