Default Lugnut Torque

I just put on my winter wheels this afternoon and had a question about torque wrenches. In the past, I've generally used a 18" breaker bar and stomped on the end of it to tighten my wheels. Now with the Q5, I bought a new torque wrench out of paranoia since this is the nicest car I've owned. I was able to effortlessly torque my lug nuts to 105 ft-lbs with my bare hands, which confused me. All these years I must've been applying about double the torque when I used to stomp on my breaker bar! Do you think I was really applying 200 ft-lbs of torque using the stomping method, or am I under-torquing my wheels with an improperly calibrated torque wrench? Is 105 ft-lbs supposed to be very easy to tighten to?

You were over tightening - you are lucky you never warped a rotor.

But to verify your wrench - borrow one from someone else to verify the torque on your wheels: https://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel64.shtml

That's crazy tight. You can apply 100 lb-ft with a simple unremarkable factory lug wrench. You've been waaaaay overtightening your lug nuts (for a car anyway).
