I am working on my 2012 Q5. Do not feel like to spend $400 on a VAG-COM cable, since all I need is a tool to reset the service light. Found this cheap scanner on amazon.com. Any one have any experience with this scanner? Can it safely reset the service light after oil change?

Its a code reader alright... but not a Ross Tech. You can do your own oil changes reset through MMI... but you'll still need a proper Ross tech VAG COM when replacing brakes.... or you could pay the $tealership to do it for you.
