Default Mirror ****

Took delivery of my 2011 Q5 2.0T P+, and within the first day, I think I broke the mirror adjustment ****. I accidentally turned the **** too far to the left, thinking it would fold the mirrors, but quickly realized after I did it that the **** was now freely spinning and did not have the defined 'stops' at each of the different selections.

Has anyone else done this?

BTW...The Q5 is an amazing vehicle.

My mirrors fold up when I turn the mirror **** counter-clockwise until it points down (or back, or at 180 degrees....) into the bottom detent.

I can turn either way to fold the mirrors.

Does the 2.0T have folding mirrors?

Yes. The P+ has heated/folding mirrors. I can get the mirrors to fold and have them set to auto-fold when I lock the car with the fob. My issue is that I can only get them to fold while in the car by turning the **** to the right, and the **** does not have specific spans/detents at each of the modes. So you have to look at each of the modes and where the line on the **** is and line them up. It becomes a real PITA at night since the line on the **** is not illuminated.

I'll need to have the dealer take a look at it when I go to pickup my front grille filler plate from removing the front license plate holder. Hopefully they do not need to pull the dar apart.

I can rotate the **** both clockwise and counterclockwise, with specific detents at each function position.
Palumbo, it definitely sounds like you broke something in there.

Sorry but I agree with nooB5 that you've got a broken mirror ****.
If I recall though, you can turn the **** 360 degrees without any problems. You should have 4 **** positions.

I do worry that the **** will break off sooner or later. I try not to turn the **** very often because it just doesn't feel sturdy enough to withstand frequent turning.
