my 2013 Q5 stalled while driving on the highway and wont start again!!
While driving my brand new 2013 Q5 on the highway (only 640Km) I felt something disengage and no more response from the gas paddle. The car stayed on though and I managed to pull over to the shoulder. I then tried shifting the gear to reverse or Drive but nothing. The car wont move or respond to gas. Turned it off, then tried to restart it again but it wont start. it chokes and dies right away
I just had it towed to the dealership, but have to wait till monday before someone takes a look at it.
Any idea what the problem could be? I hope I dont have a defective tranny!

Sorry to hear! Good thing it disengaged the tranny instead of jerked to a stop. Worst I've had happen in a car was my Jeep's turbo had an issue, so I couldn't accelerate more than 3km/h per second

Wow, no one has posted anything like that !
Good luck and you are doing the correct thing to let the dealer handle it...
you roadside assistance should have paid for the tow and I would expect them to give you a loaner to drive around...
With all those systems being affected, ecu. tcu, throttle, etc...
it sounds like some type of electrical short that is fooling the computers...
fyi,
Document EVERYTHING that happened, date, times, symptoms, mileage, etc...
who you talked to, what they said, etc... and send it in an email to yourself.
so in the future you don't have to recall it...
and you have a paper trail in the event of future issues...
(I got in the habit of doing that years ago when I had a problem child vehicle and it's served me well )

Thanks everyone.
Road side assistance did cover the tow to the dealership but didnt provide a rental! They told me to talk to the dealership Monday morning.
I will document everything and will be contacting Audi Canada first thing Monday morning.

It very well could just be a computer issue and not a big hardware thing.
When my MAF pooped out it caused all kinds of errors because the computer was so confused.
Good luck getting everything fixed.

Doesn't sound like it. Sounds like the engine quit running but all of the electricity was still on.
Sounds like a fuel pump or spark failure to me. I bet there is nothing wrong with the transmission. When the engine quits and the TC lock disengages, there is no mechanical connection between the transmission and engine.
My $0.02.
