Me and my bright ideas

Since you've already removed all the silencers, are you considering a high flow cat/downpipe? That should give you some extra power without the chipping.

I don't know of any aftermarket downpipe for the Q5. Let me know if you know one.

Think the one from AWE may give more sound but no additional power:

Eurocode makes a high flow cat for the B8 A4 that supposedly fits the Q5:

http://www.ecodetuning.com/shop/cart..._detail&p=1874

(their ebay listing shows fitment for Q5)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-B8-A4-A...#ht_500wt_1180

APR has a high flow cat for the B8 A4, which may also fit:

http://www.goapr.com/products/apr_ex...a4_20tfsi.html

I definitely would check with the manufacturers first to ensure fitment and no issues.

Good luck!

Hey DFrost, what APR do you have installed in your Q? I'm planning on getting the Carbonio Intake System from them, I just hope that I will not regret... I got the 3.2 engine

Pretty sure that system won't fit (maybe just 2011-12 models).

I think Frost got his to work on his and it's a MY10 I think.

Frost, you chime in here and let us know what you've found. I know lots have wanted or tried to get them, but they do not fit.

I haven't done the Carbonio yet... I'm on Stage 1 at the moment and still planning for other mods

Subsonique fitted the B8 A4 2.0T's Carbonio onto his 2010... I believe... I've been debating the benefits of the intake at this point so I haven't jumped on it yet

@maynard0418

From what I gather, there may be fitment concerns for the Carbonio on the 2.0T. If you are looking for intake for the 3.2, I believe another member (JOS4AUDI) is using a Stratmosphere setup (I have seen pics of it on another forum that he posts):

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...osphere&page=6

I haven't seen the Carbonio fitted on a 3.2 yet, but reach out to APR and I'm sure they will be able to help. If you are looking for power increase, there might be some to be gained from doing exhaust or a high flow cat. I know AWE Tuning has a nice exhaust setup for the 3.2 (http://www.awe-tuning.com/products/a...l-exhaust.html)

I see you've been looking around since September for input... (https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...light=carbonio) wish I can help you more on this...

Oh yeah, that was Subsonique's ride. Sorry about that.

Also, Stratmosphere is out of business, so no luck there.

@DFrost

I might go with the Magnaflow setup, I heard the sample clip of the AWE in youtube, and they seem to be pretty loud from the cabin, and it doesn't sound like a German car from the outside, no offense, but the Magnaflow sample clip sound pretty descent to me... I just don't want the car to sound like a Honda Civic from the outside..

But thanks on the reply for the intake, I'm checking on the forum post now

I tried my 'more is better' as depicted in post 35 above....
and the vote is Do NOT do remove the primary and center silencers !!!

I had just the two magnaflows at the rear, but thought they would be enough if I went cat back to the split ....

WOW it's loud, actually vibrates you in the car.... would never have dreamed that having had straight piped big diesel v8's before....

will post up a short video later as my ears are still ringing !!!

but it's back to the exhaust shop in the morning !

Lol.... That's why I have a Magnaflow mid muffler.

Did you also re-pipe to 3" piping? Or did you just remove the primary and mid muffler?

And are you reinstalling the stock muffler or install another Magnaflow?
