I had that feeling it would be quite loud since it's already night and day just by swapping out the rear 2 mufflers.

Maybe you should do a dyno pull or two before swapping back just to see if you gained more power

Not that worried about the hp diff as I never did any dyno runs when tuning and or new wheels and tires...

oh well, it was worth a try and now WE all know

here is an acceleration video in D with windows up and all:

It actually sounds good outside the car, but inside (in person) is horrible

Will be dropping it off in the morning to probably insert a center muffler....

Can you tell that the turbo spools a bit quicker?

From the video clip, it doesn't sound that bad. But I'm sure you're probably hearing a lot of drone.

Good luck with the mid muffler. Which brand are you installing?

Sounds pretty aggressive... but I can see why it wouldn't work for commuting/daily-use...

Tremendous gut shaking for such a lil engine !
Probably go with a 3rd magnaflow flow thru type on Monday

Once you got the mid muffler installed, please do post another sound clip from the inside...

I am too not happy when from the inside growl is too loud

Will do... should be done by tmo...

very odd that at full throttle it sounds about the same with or without center and primary silencer

but less than full throttle and without is horrendous

Thanks to Techm8n for the impetus !

Here tis: http://youtu.be/Iqy4n7tnal8

put another good flowing magnaflow in place of the straight pipe I had tried and seemed to be much better...

we'll see as it burns in a bit as it is still borderline a lil raucous...

but all good flowing mufflers, now the wife wants the newer model with the 3.0T

when does that come out ?!?

Sounds better. If you want it toned down even more, I'd add this Dynomax resonator where the Primary was positioned. http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php?muffler=racebullet

Dynomax part#24246. "provide up to a 4 dbA sound reduction"

I'd like the 3.0t Q5 too. But I think it'll be more cost effective if I upgrade to the APR K04 turbo for $2999.
313hp/367lb-ft trq.

Maybe your wife will approve this upgrade. . You'll be the first Q5 here with a APR K04 turbo.
