Default MY2016

Has anybody taken delivery or seen any at the dealership, a MY2016 Q5/SQ5? I understand that they at at the port but have not been "released to dealership" and Audi has not announced a release date? Just curious if it is a plot to clear MY2015's during the Summer of Audi sales event before 2016's are released.

My MY2016 was built week 22 (last week of May and first week of MY16 production) and should have made it on a ship last week. I expect to have it by mid July. I think the earliest ship that a '16 could have caught would have been the Florida Highway which is due in Davisville on the 30th while the Adriatic Highway is due July 4th. Both then go on to Houston about a week later. Haven't heard of any planned delays at the ports, especially for those that are already sold. It wouldn't surprise me if Audi held back on the supply of '16s until the '15s are mostly cleared out.

It's pretty common for first arrivals of new model year cars to be held in port until an official release date. I'm guessing that Audi wants to ensure that most dealers get their cars around the same time.

My SQ5 is due in Houston today. I asked the sales mgr yesterday if he thought it would be held because the MY2016 had not been released yet. He told me he should have the car in a week to 10 days. I've worked with him for years, so I have no reason to doubt him.

Interesting. Do you know what the build week was and the ship name? The schedule has shown only two ships departing Emden since early June. Which dealership are you working with as mine don't seem to have a clue. I'm also in Houston.

Default Audi releases vehicles after the official pricing is published...

That should happen this week.

I guess Audi doesn't want anyone to see window sticker pricing until they officially announce it to the press?

The ship is the Bishu Highway, The build week was 5/25. It showed up on my dealers website, in inventory coming soon, on 6/07, along with its VIN. All 2016 Q5's were removed from dealers inventory on their website late last week.

My build week was shown as 2215 which started 5/25 and shows completion 06/08. Mine also showed up in inventory but not sure when as it was by accident I stumbled upon it. It has also been removed.

My 06/08 completion was probably too late for the Bishu Highway that departed Emden just two days later. I expect it either on the Florida (7/5) or Adriatic Highway (7/11) but the dealer says he doesn't know. Everyone that I've dealt with must have been selling shoes the week before they sold my car as they appear to know little and haven't been willing or able to answer most questions.

The Order Guide with prices has been available for over a month. Fairly easy to figure out the window sticker and invoice prices from that.

I ordered a MY2016 SQ5 on May 30th. At that time, the build sheet with pricing was available, but not much other detail. My dealer also had no information about the MY2016 models.
I made the assumption that MY2016 is like the 2015, but really have no idea. All I know so far is my car will be built the week on 7/6 and I hope to get my car sometime in August. There is still no information on the Audi website for the MY2016 Q5's. My dealer thinks Audi is trying to move the MY2015 inventory out before releasing the MY2016's.
