Need help deciding between 3.2 or 3.0T Engine

I checked the Q today, at 70mph its at 2k rpm.
the only difference between the 335i and 335d in gearing is the final drive. I don't believe that an 8 speed has any advantage over a 6 speed in highway mileage. explain how my 335d 6 spd revs lower than any 8 speed i've seen at similar rpm.
i'm not a fan of 8 speeds, they feel like cvt transmissions.

It seems like there are different versions of the 3.0T engine. The same engine but de-tuned? Not sure, you gurus probably will now
Do you know which one the Q5 will get? Q7 has this one:
HP:
280 hp @ 4920 RPM
Torque:
295 lb-ft. @ 2250 RPM
and the Q7S is rated at 333HP.

The current A6 has the base 3.0T (310hp/325ft.lb) and the S4 has one with a supercharger (333hp/325ft.lb.). The Q7 can be had with either, but based on that I would guess that they could put the 3.0T that is in the A6 in the Q5 as a replacement for the 3.2 and save the supercharger for a pumped up S model...or whatever they end up calling it. Who knows, but I think that might make sense.

Well, then I'll just shut my big mouth.
The spec comparison descriptions differ on the Audi site, listing the S4 with a "mechanical charger" and the A6 without. I thought that accounted for the power difference.
I think I'd take either.

The 3.0t is no doubt the more modern engine, 3.2 is history. Feg a5 lineup has both 3.0t and s5, so although it might be underrated, it still is no 333bhp. I myself would take the3.0 diesel w/245 bhp if it arrives there as rumors say, that engine is underrated!

I just heard from Audi Canada that the 3.0T won't be arriving until Q1 of 2013, so a 7-8month wait for me has become a 12-13 month wait... And I *will* wait.
I'd personally go for the 2.0T if I couldn't wait that long... not a fan of the 3.2.

As an owner of an S4 with the 3.0t engine, and having test-driven the Q5 with the 3.2, I would overwhelmingly recommend getting the 3.0t.
I will probably get one for myself when it comes out.

I would say anybody who is on the fence right now about the 2.0T and the 3.2 should wait, if at all possible, for the 3.0T Q5 before deciding. The 3.0T is leaps and bounds better the 3.2 in terms of performance and the reliability is a bit better as well, the power band of the 3.0T is simply incredible, definitely worth the wait.
