Thanks is there anyway to restore the firmware or update the firmware myself? As my local audi mk dealers were just rude and weren't interested, they were just trying to fob me off -.-

Excuse the newbie question on this . . .
Where does the adapter cable plug in? And, it looks short - where does it reach so you can plug in your iphone or other device to the lightning port end?

I believe in the Q5 it's located in the glove box. In some other models it's located in the center console.

Doesn't the new 2015+ A3 use USB ports? If so, all you need is the appropriate USB to phone cable - no AMI cable necessary. As to MMI resolution for video, you need to check your MMI infotainment manual for the file format requirements. Audi changes the specs as new models are released.

Not through the AMI cable, only via Bluetooth Audio streaming. You can't have Bluetooth Audio activated in the MMI and the AMI cable connected at the same time on the same device - the MMI will be confused which to use. Try unplugging the iPhone from the AMI and ensuring the Bluetooth Audio is selected in the Tel>Settings>Bluetooth menu. The phone, of course, must be paired with the car's Bluetooth. It should then work.
A workaround to avoid plugging and unplugging and changing Bluetooth Audio settings that I use is my iPhone is paired for tel and Bluetooth Audio and an older iPod in the console for the AMI source. Then I can select either source in the MMI.

Correct. Only native iPhone/iPad audio and video files through the AMI (which can also be played using Bluetooth Audio).
