I guess that's my issue w/ the whole thing. Your cg doesn't really change by adding 2lb roof rails. If it detected the actual load vs. assuming it's fully loaded once they are engaged it would make a lot more sense. I ended up adding them w/ the audi bike rack and can't notice a difference, so its all good.
