Here in US Q5 does not come with parking sensors.

Depending where you live or park, the sensors may be a real benefit - we live in a metropolitan area so sensors for $250 is a good parking aid, I don't think I would buy OEm sensors for $530 + installation fee...

Really? My 2010 Premium Plus is US and has parking sensors back and front, including the rear camera. Maybe you also need the MMI with Nav?
I get a fun display that shows proximity lines and all sorts of annoying but handy beebbeebs. Can even turn it on manually for if you are not reversing and want to park the front-end really close up to something.

You are correct. Q5 has parking sensors and back up camera included with NAV package. I have it on my '09 Prem Plus with Nav.

Posting this here because the MMI is thesame as my 07 Q7.I'm looking to install the rear parking aid only (acoustic w/o display in MMI)for my vehicle which did not come with PDC or camera. Audi offers kit 4L0 054 630 for around $420. Has anyone done or looked into this? Checked with Kufatec and they only offer the complete front & back PDC at $1200. Thanks

I used the (COBRA A0158) on the rear of my 2008 A6 Avant. purchased off e-bay for £68.
Remove rear bumper and you will see that the hole centers are marked for the sensors. Drill a small pilot hole then use a 20mm cutter ( I used a cone drill).
Take your power feed from the reversing light wire in the right hand rear compartment. (this is on an A6)

Parking sensors are only available in with the Nav. Package on Premium Plus and above. They are not standard here.
