Default Nobody Knows

Frustrated by Audi Q5 sales people, help line, and Corporate.

I simply wantedd to know when the entirely new Q5 will be on the market in U.S. I have a 2011 with lease expiration at end of 2013

I might be able to extend the lease for 6-12 months if I had info

Can anyone help? I could lease a 2013, but don't want to be into a lease with a new Q5 coming out.

Thaks guys.

The 2014 is supposed to be an all-new model? It looks the same to me. Generally the new model year Q5's hit the market around September, so that should give you an indicator. The reason no one is giving you an answer is because no one knows! They simply haven't planned that far out yet.

EDIT: The 2014 platform is still the same, and the 2.0 and 3.0 will still be offered. I assume you mean you want to upgrade to either the TDI or SQ5 engine right?

I have an idea. Since the 3.0T and Hybrid were new for 2013, you can ask them when the exact release date was for these 2 models and use that as a guide for next year.

Complete new redesign won't be until 2016 at the earliest.

I imagine it might coincide with the new Mexico plant opening.

Just my guess.

Next-gen is supposed to be MY 2016, so fall 2015 probably. And yes, Puebla should be providing those (if Puebla doesn't open for 2016 business as expected, the NA release of the next-gen Q5 would likely be pushed back -- not like we always get the latest generation at launch anyway).

Agreed with above. They just did the re-fresh. Those typically go at least 2 and probably 3 years to get their investment out. So nothing until 2015 or 2016 MY. As stated, the redo will coincide with the Mexico plant.

Now, is a millions dollars question: Would you buy your next Q5, if it was assembled in Mexico?
Had a very close friend who 'lemoned' his car after 10 month - front suspension made car not safe to drive.
Because I knew the guy from '87 and I drove his car more then one accessions - I will never ever buy a car assembled in Mexico. No exceptions.

Reliability does change over time, though. It's not like Japanese cars used to be any good, but now they're considered the benchmark. Volvos and Mercedes used to be tanks, and now not so much. I wouldn't go so far as to say "never", but I'll need to see how reports are these days for a while before I'd personally be willing to give it a try.

I think in general it's safer to avoid buying the first year of a new model/major redesign... that way the manufacturer gets to work out most of the issues. GL!

This is giving to any manufactures.
And yes - "Never say Never" - who knows.
