Same issue on a 2010 Q5 manufactured in May 2010. It is random.

Every time I've gone to mine with an issue that has been diagnosed on this board they fixed it w/o question.
If it's leaking a lot, they can check in a short amount of time, but in my case there was no smoking gun. They did some pressure tests and ended up replacing all injectors even though the actual tests passed. It was a long job and it looked like they took a lot of things apart in the engine to work on this issue.

As long as i get a loaner i am not really worried how long it will take them, lol.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. Gave my 5k oil change in about 5-6 weeks so will ask them to do the work same time.

I was also experiencing occasional start-up problems.
Took my Q5 in for service today but they found no issues with the "injectors".

There were no "DTCS" faults in memory.

But they did find a lag issue and installed a software update TSB # 2023535/2 for engine ECU.

I will give an update to see if this rectifies my problem.

Did they do a pressure test on them?

Sorry ... Do not know if they actually performed a pressure test ... I suspect not.

No start-up issues this morning.

The nagging lag issue that I was experiencing 1st thing in the mornings, seems to have gone away this morning but will monitor for a week before I can conclusively say my issues are resolved.

Took my Q5 to the dealer for the 3rd time for bad starts. They are now diagnosing the cause as a faulty high-pressure fuel pump and will replace it. I'll let everyone know if that doesn't solve the problem.

Good luck - It certainly could be a cause.

My car is now in for 5K service and I asked about this. Their plan was to drive around and replicate the issue. I have insisted to get the injectors tested. They have said they will try. I am not to worried since i have a 2.0T 2011 A4 as a loaner that I plan to enjoy, lol.
