Default OE Tires Q5

What are the OE tires for a 2013 Q5 - 20" for Cape Town - Summer tires
I have Bridgestone Dueller HP Sport on now
I experienced poor mileage on these tires
And wish to change to a better tire
Thanks

Forget about what OEM tires are. All cars ship with junk that might be chosen for EPA MPG ratings but little else.

Look at tirerack.com to see what fits and how it is rated. Personally, I'd say go for a AA traction rating followed by a high treadwear rating and work from there, unless you've got some other priority. (Wet traction counts for more than dry traction to me.)

They DO also let you see what's available in designated "high mpg, low rolling resistance" tires, although that often compromises some other feature.

"Quiet" is always nice, but "comfort" is usually a tradeoff against "handling", your choice.

Local tire chains often are a rip-off, but Costco offers free flat patches for life, the other wholesale clubs have other incentives, even though they usually stock a much smaller line of tires. And sometimes Ford or GM or Sears is offering specials where they will match anyone's price, so it can pay to ask around. "Presidents Day" sales are coming now.

Comfort and 20" wheels shouldn't be mentioned together. No should fuel economy. You need some good sidewall flex typically to reduce rolling resistance and narrower width if possible. Plus the heaver wheel weight doesn't help either. I get better mileage with my 17" winter tires/wheels (Nokian Hakkas) then my 18" OEM Michelin Latitudes. It rides smoother too.

Tirerack indicates there are three or four Michelin "Latitude" tires, with weights that vary from 29-32 pounds, and other differences between them. So that's a bit of a mystery tire. But getting better mileage with winter tires would be a good trick. Presumably you're in an area that does not use E10 fuel in the winter, since that would usually knock 10% off your gas mileage and make the mysteries even deeper. Or is that Cape Town as in South Africa, and E10 not a concern there?
Good point that skinny tires also help increase mileage. Maybe your snows are stiffer, so they normally have a narrower contact patch as well?
