The Inside Line article implies it may come here . . .
"The Audi SQ5 TDI goes on sale in Europe early next year. An Audi spokesman says an official date has not yet been set for U.S. sales."
http://www.insideline.com/audi/q5/au...w-sq5-tdi.html
Car and Driver states that it is not coming here, but speculates that an American S with the S4's 3.0T could . . .
"Will the SQ5 come to the U.S.? No, we are told by Audi, but the SQ5 line could well be expanded to include the supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 that powers the S4 and the S5. This engine, tuned to 272 hp, is available in the regular Q5; in a gas-powered SQ5, it likely would produce 333 hp."

Encouraging.

Right?!?! Plus, the Cadillac SRX, Infiniti EX37, Mercedes GLK350 all make over 300hp. Heck, even the Lexus RX has 270hp/248tq... I don't get their rationale at all--its not like the tune for more hp would cost them much in fuel economy either. Who knows...at least they bumped the 2.0T power a bit.

I have been told that the reason for the TDi version reveal only at Le Mans was to coincide with Audi's contiued success with their diesel race cars, the petrol version will be shown in due course.

Just heard from Audi Canada that the SQ5 *will* be coming to North America as a 2014 model, *not* with the 3.0BiTDI, but with a TFSI motor.
No specific details were given, but I suspect that it will be the same 3.0TFSI motor, ungimped to output it's "full" 333HP potential.

I was originally looking to purchase a 2013 Q5 3.0T, but have decided to hold out for the S model.
Here's to hoping that the 2014 SQ5 hits the roads in summer of 2013. :-)

No solid confirmation of launch dates for Europe as yet which would be a good indicator of US launch dates but I'm told Feb/Apr '13 is the expected date at the moment so Summer '13 sound good.
