Q5 owner beware! Installed the 2.0T dipstick today. Part #06J 115 611 E . Yeh,I'm OCD... It looked a little high to me. Ran the check oil level on MMI. Confirmed it was too high. I'm a 2012 owner... so it's never been in for service... that means right out of the factory it's filled with too much oil. Drained about 1 liter. Ran the oil level check again and now it's perfect. Dipstick confirms this. For $35 bucks it cost me, why can't Audi just put dipsticks in straight from the factory? Makes me wonder how many other 2012's have be overfilled? Here's too the "o'l skool" way of engine maintenance!

Agreed, but when it's shrinkage-causing cold, it's nice to have a rough guess without having to brave the elements. Both would be nice from the factory.

When the oil level is too high to get the message display driver: Oil level is too high or Please reduce oil level
Pouring oil into the engine performed by robots controlled by computers.
A dealer is required before delivery of a new car to do a "zero service" (check all fluids in car and engine function of accuracy and equipment)

So I should hold my dealer responsible for any possible engine damage that could result from too much oil in the crankcase. Guess he'll want a sample of the used oil as proof.

IMO, you guys are going overboard in here. No engine damage has occurred from an oil level too high. Only the catalytic can get harmed and that's when its so overfilled, its blowing blue smoke out of the tailpipe. The oil level shown in a new car sometimes is inaccurate, as I have seen it happen personally, where the car brand new, showed it needed a quart of oil. A quart was added and then a week later, it was overfilled. I would drive the car for a few days and make sure the oil level is properly read.

Of course the dealer is responsible, anyway you have 3 or 4 year warranty on the car
Write a report to Directorate Audi Canada for your case
I do not want to be misunderstood

What Q5 2.0TFSI is $60K, much less $50K?? If you paid $60K, I would be more mad at the price, than the oil level.
