Hi guys I needs some help, the aux belt on my 2009 3.0dti frayed and the bits damaged the wiring loom to the oil pressure switch and the switch itself, I got a red can warning shut down engine immedietly.

I fitted new belt, water pum, pulleys and new oil pressure switch,along with an extensive loom repair.

So all working and sounding fine but the red oil can is flashing, vag com reports

OIL PRESSURE SWITCH FOR REDUCED OIL PRESSURE p164D Malfunction.


Can be reset and engine started but fault recoccurs some times straight away some times after driving overe 15 kph, even Audi checked it over and cannot find the issue, I was so convinced the oil pressure is ok I did a 1000 miles journey at motorway speeds with no issues.

The oil pressure sender has been changed twice and even ran the engine and tested the sensor was switching over and it was so oil pressure is fine as I thought and 1k miles later. oil and filter changed

Any thoughts anyone, and anyone have a link to the wring diagram for the oile sender circuit. The oil level sender works fine, I can only think it is a wiring issue so need a diagram to check it out.

Any help appreciated.
