Hi,
I am thinking of buying Audi Q5 (new or CPO) with 2.0T engine.
Any known issues that I should be aware of? This is my first German car.
Also, can someone comment on the maintenance costs after initial 4 yrs of maintenance contract ? What does the maintenance contract cover? I was told by the dealer that its $750 and I dont have to pay anything in first 4 yrs.
Are Audis known to give nagging issues? unexpected expenses like break light failure or power window failure or audio system failure etc.? I have owned Hondas and Acuras before and such things NEVER fail in japanese cars. I am told by my German car owning friends to be prepared for nagging issues and shell out at least a grand a year on an average for maintenance. Is it tru?

If "reliability" is our primary automotive focus, we don't buy European cars

In my experience, Audi has been very pro-active in terms of service and replacing parts or updating software when warranted and at no charge to the customer... even past the warranty period.
Sorry, but I don't believe Japanese cars are significantly better (in terms of reliability) than any other cars in recent years. Toyota has certainly had it's share of problems the last 10 years or so.

But for peace of mind, definitely go new or, to save significant bucks, CPO. My warranty is good through 9/2018.

I bought a 2011 Q5 2.0 Premium Plus new 3.5 years ago and got AudiCare for the scheduled maintenance. I have not had anything go wrong with it during that time apart from needing to buy new brakes last year.

I've had my 2011 Q5 2.0 for a year and half so far. Only thing I've had to do was oil changes and brakes (though they needed to be done when I got it). My car was an accident write-off that I rebuilt so you would think it would have more problems than normal. There is a creak in the front, but I think its the sway bar bushings and just haven't gotten around to changing them (Its just annoying and only like $30 to fix)
